Senior Pastors Mark and Dee Harris
Founders of Valley Christian Church

Pastors Mark and Dee Harris have been married since 1977 and have 3 grown children as well as 3 grand children.

Pastor Mark has been described as “walking love.” Mark’s heart is for all to know and experience the amazing love God has for them as well as to see people walk in the fullness that God has for them in every area of their lives. Dee is passionate about helping young people know God and live their lives well, fulfilling every purpose Father has for them as well as influencing others along the way. She is also passionate about woman fulfilling their purpose in the Kingdom of God. Together they have a heart to parent the next generation into their purpose and destiny.

In 1989, the Lord spoke to Mark and Dee to start a church in their home in Sunnydale, Fish Hoek. Together with one other family, Valley Christian Church family was born. The heart was to be from Acts 2:42-47 “They devoted themselves to the apostles; teaching ad to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke break in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

The mark of us as a family was that we would be a loving, accepting, forgiving, generous people who despite circumstances would be full of joy. It was to be a place where people are taught how to have a personal relationship with Jesus as well as how to live in relationship with others.

Over the years, we have been a church on the move, utilizing every school hall in the area! We have had many successes and failures, learning the will and ways of God. Through the years, God has built this family by establishing Godly values and principles in order to advance the Kingdom.

We invite you to join us on this exciting journey as we love God, love His people, live life and advance His Kingdom.
